o DuPAGE COUNTY WL2K READINESS TEST - This is intended to keep your radio equipment and WL2K operating skills ready for an actual emergency. DuPage County has two gateways that are available 24/7 that you can use for the Readiness Test. Both are on 145.610 MHz, the Illinois ARES statewide frequency for Winlink: K9EW-10 (Westmont) and NE9MA-10 in Naperville.
ILLINOIS ARES DIGITAL EXERCISE - On the second Sunday of each month, send an email to Danny Pease (NG9R) via the Winlink system. Sometimes a live digital net may be activated for check-ins throughout the state (DuPage County is in Region 3). Each monthly exercise is described in advance in an email from Danny. Regular nets are held every Wednesday at 6:30 PM on the KC9OEM 2 meter repeater - 145.470 MHz, -600 kHz, 103.5 Hz PL
A Digital Practice Net follows the regular net on the 1st Wednesday of the month. A Backup Repeater Test follows the regular net on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Training Sessions are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00PM at the St. Charles Fire Dept Bldg, 112 North Riverside, St. Charles, downstairs in the training room. Regular meetings are on the 4th Thursday of the month 7:00 pm at the St. Charles Fire Dept Bldg, 112 North Riverside, St. Charles, downstairs in the training room.
Will County ARES meets the 2nd Monday of each Month at the Laraway Garage, on Laraway Road and Cherry Hill Road, west of New Lenox, & East of Route 52.
Look for the tall tower with the flashing light. When you turn in, look for the turn-in to the left and the meeting place is on the right.
